The Web Development Stages

The development process for all projects includes some common key stages, whether the project is a new website or a redesign of something that already exists. The three stages of the process are outlined below to give you a flavour of how we work.

Requirements Capture

We attempt to define the following based on the requirements of both the Client and any interested parties (including the University itself):

  • Project owner and Interested Parties
  • Budget and Timescale
  • Purpose and Audience
  • Content and technical requirements

We will produce a document based on this outlining all of the relevant parties' responsibilities. This includes stating responsibilities for project managment (usually us) and project sign-off (usually your head of unit).

Design, Build, Content Integration

Once the requirements capture has been defined, the project manager will be responsible for overseeing this phase of a project, communicating with all interested parties to ensure that each component is delivered on time.
